Good thread. It's a tough task though, narrowing it down to five. hmm...

Rancid- And out come the wolves. It got me really into punk when I was like 12/13? Rancid was also my first big show. Definitely would not have made it through middle school without this cd/band.

The Clash-London Calling. I'm pretty sure it was this cd that made me actually love music. This might be my favorite record of all time.

Black Flag-First Four Years. Got me into hardcore. Basically when I heard this, I realized that a lot of the street punk I was listening to sucked.

American Nightmare-Background Music. Got me into modern hardcore.

H2O- FTTW. I don't know, this record just means a lot to me. It's gotten me through a lot of tough times. I really relate to the messages in this cd more than any other. Oh and H2O was my introduction to straight edge.

wow...I sound cliche

Haha! I don't think you sound cliche Beth. It is a hard task to narrow it down to five. That's why I was excited to see what people would have to say because you really need to think about it. I'll have to post mine once I figure out what my top five would be. And H2O's FTTW albumn I think is on almost everyone in hardcore's top albumns and if not that, probably a big favorite. I know it is with me. Thanks for answering!

im not really into H20

im cheating and making my top six:

minor threat- discography: got me into hardcore and straight edge. classic

bane- give blood/it all comes down to this - my first big hardcore show was a bane show, and to this day it was the best show i have ever been to. listening to bane makes me feel alive

jetavana grove - six and one: a small local indie band from where i used to live. some of the best music ever. if anyone is interested i can send you a link to download their shit for free, posted by the band.

modest mouse - the moon and antarctica: modest mouse is awesome and this album is flawless

converge - when forever comes crashing: this album got me into converge. i love everything about this band

with honor - heart means everything: got me into the positive side of hardcore, other than bane. i have heart means everything tattood on my chest

My top five changes a lot but currently it is...

Kingdom-The Rage that guides...I've been listening to it for days now and love it!

Red Hot Chili Peppers- Blood Sugar Sex Magic...This is what got me really into music when I was about 7 years old.

Walls Of Jericho- The American Dream...It just Hits you hard.

The Distillers- Sing Sing Death House... First real introduction to females in a male dominated scene.

Black Flag- Everything went Black... It's just damn good.

Max, you listed a lot of great bands and albumns. And it's okay that you cheated, haha. Send me a link to Jetavana Grove, I'd like to check them out. I'm always down for hearing new music. Is there a specific reason why you aren't really into H2O? Just curious!
