You don't join straight-edge, you take on the straight-edge. You just get involved in the scene and start thinking for yourself.

The idea is to closely examine your own life, identify what factors influence your thoughts and behaviours, assess what impact they are having on your life and rid yourself of those factors which you deem to have a negative impact on your life. [2] [12]

Straight Edge will be far beyond just using silk shirts, draw an X on the hand, attend this or that place. This is the life that takes this stance and has become natural. In addition to light in everything we do or say to do things without foundation.
(Sorry some mistakes. English is not high on the list of things I do well. Haha!)

i think you shouldnt claim edge early in life
be clean but dont claim edge
wait until you have matured enough because youll never know if your opinions might change

So anyway.. I see that for *joining* straight edge yu have to get involved with the scene...
But if the scene (like in my case) of where i come from is extremely sad, if I know many people and none of them likes straight edge... what shoudl I do?? Just sit aroung and wait until the scene appears?
I wasn't really happy with the answer above.. (sorry, not personal)... I think for *joining* straight edge you just need to have the wish and the will of making of yourself a better person... whatever the means to you (drug free, vegan, not promiscous, etc)
I'm really new at this.. and i don't know many people involved with this.. I just wanted to know if what i think is right.. ??

I HAVE BEEN REALY WANTING TO BECOME STRAIGHTEDGE, I THINK IM STRAIGHTEDGE? I DONT DO DRUGS,ALCOHOL, OR SMOKED. BUT I WANT TO BECOME IN STRAIGHTEDGE VERY BADLY, AND N3VER DO DRUGS FOREVER. I WONT STOP INTILL I BECOME STRAIGHTEDGE. SOMEONE PLEASE EMAIL ME IF THEY CAN HELP ME OUT OR GIVE ME HEADS UP ABOUT STRAIGHTEDGE!
