Review: Fall River, Lights Out

Fall River’s latest release, “Lights Out, lies some where between math-rock and metal core. Disjointed jagged rhythms clash with southern grooves, and chunky metal laden chords to create a rich and layered progressive sound. Reminiscent of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Mastodon, and the obvious comparison, Walls of Jericho, this 26 minute, ten track disc is well worth a listen. Track three, “I’m not a big fan of Parentheses (Burn Baby, Burn)”, features a guest appearance by Sean Ingram of Coalesce. Unlike other bands who boast a female lead, Fall River does not have a single clean vocal. Thank God. Overall this release is solid, and I am looking forward to hearing more from Fall River.
