I like A Perfect Murder’s earlier release, Unbroken, because it is a hardcore album which has elements of thrash thrown in. A Perfect Murder’s latest release on Victory Records, “Strength Through Vengeance” is the opposite. It’s a thrash album with hardcore elements thrown in! “Strength Through Vengeance” is loaded with bluesy riffs and heavy as hell guitars. The recording is top notch. The drums and guitars are brutal and balanced. The band obviously draws influences from Pantera and Metallica. Kevin Randel’s voice draws such a striking resemblance to Phil Anselmo’s that it is eerie. Overall it’s a solid release, but nothing ground breaking.
