Influence is a new band out of Vienna, Austria featuring members of Time X Trial, OnXPoint, and Alive Inside. Their debut EP Vienna Hardcore is raw, pissed, and rooted in straight edge. In an interview with No Echo, vocalist Miso talks about why they started the band and where they see hardcore in their city.
“We have been in straight edge for a long time… but we had the feeling that this expression is becoming less represented in hardcore bands.”
The band draws influence from classic youth crew without overthinking it. There’s frustration with gatekeeping and a call to bring hardcore back to something real. The scene in Vienna is small, but active—and Influence is ready to carry it forward.
“The reaction to Vienna Hardcore has more than surprised us… This gave us the energy to start working on new songs.”
