Hot off the heels of their split with Achilles, Engineer bursts back into the scene with what can best be described as an audible assault. “Reproach” features nine tracks spanning a whopping thirty four minutes of mordant math-core. Dynamic rhythms cascade behind precise biting guitars which seem to pummel one’s ears into submission. The vocals are rough, dirty, and extremely powerful, lending to the over all intensity of the album. Chaotic, loud, and abrasive Engineer’s “Reproach” will appeal to fans of Coalesce, Botch, and even fans of Isis.
