TRUExFEELING, a hardcore band originating from the Bulgarian scene, emerged in late 2022 when four dedicated straight edge friends united with a shared passion for death metal-infused hardcore. Driven by a commitment to their principles, the band proudly identifies their sound as “brutal edge metal.”
Their first track, “In Decay,” debuted just ahead of their premiere performance at DIY Conspiracy’s Mayday Fest in 2023. This song, along with “Hedonistic Nonsense,” found its place in the “Straight Edge And Proud” compilation, released by Ugly And Proud Records in August of the same year. Additionally, the band contributed to the benefit compilation, “A HOMELAND DENIED: A Compilation for the Palestinian Liberation,” which hit the shelves in January 2024.
In their first year, TRUExFEELING graced stages across Bulgaria and the Balkans, including notable appearances at Edge Day events in Sofia and Novi Sad, Serbia, and the xBucharestx XVX zine release show in Bucharest, Romania.
During the fall of 2023, TRUExFEELING embarked on recording their debut album, “…Of Flesh And Steel,” slated for release on March 29, 2024, under the German hardcore label, Bound By Modern Age Records. Crafted and mixed by the band’s guitarist at Wind City Studio in Sofia, and mastered by Marios Costache at Studio148 in Bucharest, Romania, the album’s artwork and layout by the band’s bassist.
Diving into a myriad of personal and societal themes, “…Of Flesh And Steel” seamlessly melds the band members’ diverse influences. From narratives of sobriety and self-discovery to broader socio-political commentary on anti-conformity, anti-authoritarianism, and anti-fascism, the album navigates between direct expression and vivid storytelling.
With an ambitious vision, TRUExFEELING seeks to reignite the fervor of straight edge hardcore within the Balkan region. Their mission transcends homage as they aim to pioneer new territories, both literally and figuratively, charting a course unseen by their predecessors.
